Esophageal carcinoma metastatic centrally to the mandible: A case report with implication of cell proliferating marker KI-67
The case presented here is considered to be of interest because a review of mandibular metastases from the esophagus found only two previous cases. Moreover, no report has considered the biologic behavior of these cancers in terms of cell proliferative activity. In this case, the presence of Ki-67,...

Zusammenfassung: | The case presented here is considered to be of interest because a review of mandibular metastases from the esophagus found only two previous cases. Moreover, no report has considered the biologic behavior of these cancers in terms of cell proliferative activity. In this case, the presence of Ki-67, which is widely accepted as an indicator of cell proliferative activity, and its labeling index, which is known to be correlated with the growth and metastasis of esophageal and gastric cancers, was used to observe the biologic behavior of the tumor cells in the primary and the secondary lesions. |
