Zusammenfassung: | Dioxamide derivatives of 1, 3, 4-thiadiazole, synthesized earlier by Oke (1986), were screened for hypoglycemic activity. Alloxan-induced diabetic albino rats were used in the study. The structure-activity relationship of the dioxamide derivatives of 1, 3, 4-thiadiazole is discussed. The study shows that the dioxamide derivatives of 1, 3, 4-thiadiazole are more potent and of longer duration of action when compared with the oxamide derivatives of 1, 3, 4-thiadiazole, which were previously reported by Oke and Cherynk (1981). |
