Deep Venous Thrombosis Shown on In-111 Labeled White Blood Cell Imaging

Thrombophlebitis was shown as an incidental finding on an In-111 WBC study performed for the evaluation of osteomyelities. A review of the literature yielded only two case reports of lower extremity deep venous thrombosis detected by In-111 WBC imaging. The use of other radiotracers such as In-111 platelets, Tc-99m HMPAO labeled platelets, and In-111 labeled monoclonal antifibrin antibodies for the diagnosis of deep venous thrombosis has been reported.
