Doppler-detected tricuspid, mitral or aortic regurgitation in end-stage renal disease
Cardiac abnormalities in patients with end-stage renal disease are common. Premature calcium in the mitral anular ring and aortic valve occurs secondary to derangements in calcium and phosphorous metabolism. 1,2 Functional aortic and pulmonary regurgitation, left ventricular hypertrophy and pericard...

Zusammenfassung: | Cardiac abnormalities in patients with end-stage renal disease are common. Premature calcium in the mitral anular ring and aortic valve occurs secondary to derangements in calcium and phosphorous metabolism.
1,2 Functional aortic and pulmonary regurgitation, left ventricular hypertrophy and pericardial effusions occur.
3–6 There are little data on the frequency of Dopplerdetected valvular regurgitation in end-stage renal disease. We determined the frequency of regurgitation in patients with end-stage renal disease and its relation to calcium in either the mitral or aortic valves and left ventricular dysfunction. |
