Zusammenfassung:Rotational mobility in fluid phase dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine unilamellar vesicles containing α-tocopherol has been studied by time-resolved anisotropy measurements of fluorescence from a diphenylhexatriene-phosphatidylcholine conjugate. The results are analysed using a simple wobbling-in-cone model. The diphenylhexatriene probe shows an increasing order parameter and more restricted wobbling with increasing α-tocopherol content of the membrane. The diffusional rate for wobbling was found not to change significantly.
