Zusammenfassung:A 17-year-old boy presented with spontaneous hemothorax due to a puncture wound of the diaphragm by an inward facing exostosis of the rib. Diagnosis was made by computed tomographic scan, and the patient underwent a video-assisted thoracoscopic procedure to remove the exostosis. This is only the eighth reported case of an exostosis causing hemothorax.
