Zusammenfassung:In this review the authors provide an overview of the gene sets that are expressed during plant embryogenesis and seed development, and discuss the mechanisms that activate and repress genes that encode abundant seed proteins at precise periods of the life cycle. Embryo gene expression programs occur during a developmental period that is critical for establishing the polarity and morphological pattern of the plant, and in which major plant tissue and cell types from. Experiments on genes expressed during embryogenesis have been directed toward dissecting the regulatory circuits that control seed protein gene expression, and identifying genes responsible for controlling pattern formation and morphogenesis during early development.
