Zusammenfassung:This paper reports our experience with the use of an improved self-administered questionnaire for assessing quality of life (QOL) after acute myocardial infarction. The modified questionnaire significantly increased the proportion of patients able to answer all questions from 84%-92%. The additional questions in the improved questionnaire increased the total variance explained by the Emotional, Physical and Social QOL factors from 65.8%-66.5%. Internal consistency and construct validity were assessed and found to be high. Overall, we have found that this improved questionnaire is easy to administer and that it possesses desirable properties of validity and reliability.
