Arterial baroreflex sensitivity assessed from phase IV of the Valsalva maneuver

In conclusion the present study clearly shows that Valsalva-based assessment of arterial baroreflex sensitivity is feasible, provides reproducible results, and may be further simplified by using the arterial baroreflex sensitivity index. These observations form a basis for prospective testing of Val...

Zusammenfassung:In conclusion the present study clearly shows that Valsalva-based assessment of arterial baroreflex sensitivity is feasible, provides reproducible results, and may be further simplified by using the arterial baroreflex sensitivity index. These observations form a basis for prospective testing of Valsalva-based determination of arterial baroreflex sensitivity together with the phenylephrine method in survivors of myocardial infarction.
