Zusammenfassung: | A woman had a 40-year history of vomiting associated with syncope. Spontaneous and induced vomiting was predictably associated with sinus bradycardia, paroxysmal atrioventricular block, and ventricular asystole. The clinical and laboratory studies carried out to illustrate the mechanism of this unusual complication of vomiting demonstrated it to be due to a vagovagal reflex initiated by distension of upper esophagus. |
