A Target Lesion of the Thyroid

An asymptomatic thyroid nodule appearing as a cold nodule with a central focus of activity (a target) on an I-123 thyroid gamma camera image was pathologically proven to be a 2-cm degenerative cyst containing a polypoid mass of thyroid tissue all within an adenomatous nodule.
