"Manager as developer": facilitating collaboration

The Manager-as-Developer model described by Bradford and Cohen in Managing for Excellence enables managers to involve staff members in the changes that affect their practice. The cohesive team that results can work collectively to achieve the overarching goal or shared vision of the individual unit while contributing to the institution's goals. The application of this model is demonstrated in a brief case study.
