Zusammenfassung: | Fifteen new cases of macrodactyly of the hands and feet are presented. These cases were combined with those already reported in the literature to determine if lesions of the upper extremity are clinically the same as those in the lower extremity. Similarities were found in the incidence, specific digits involved, multiplicity of digital involvement, and sex ratio. Differences were found in growth behavior, extent of bony involvement, and presence of neural involvement. These findings suggest that this rare, usually isolated, congenital anomaly may be two distinct entities. |
