Zusammenfassung: | To the Editor.—
Ramsey et al1 recently reported their experience with two immunochemical methods for the detection of the capsular antigens of Haemophilus influenzae and Streptococcus pneumoniae in the urine and serum of patients with lower respiratory tract infection. S pneumoniae was detected in 26 urine specimens by bacterial coagglutination (Phadebact). H influenzae was detected by latex agglutination in nine patients.
From September 1986 to March 1987, we studied 26 patients with radiographically documented pneumonia. |
