First report of ovine scrapie in Cyprus

The first outbreak of ovine scrapie in Cyprus is described. The diagnosis was reached by histopathological examination of brains and spinal cords from sheep showing clinical signs like those for scrapie. Two flocks in two different locations of Cyprus were involved.
