Zusammenfassung:	We present a patient with severe pedunculated ascending atherosclerosis associated with recurrent cerebral vascular accidents. We recommend that endarterectomy be considered for patients with recurrent cerebral vascular accidents associated with severe atherosclerosis of the ascending aorta when no other cause is found to explain the symptoms.
