Zusammenfassung:Human parvovirus is an often unrecognized but potentially deadly infection when contracted by childbearing women who are seronegative. Although maternal symptoms and sequelae are mild, the exposed fetus quickly can develop nonimmune hydrops fetalis and die. Health care providers can prepare for appropriate maternal and fetal management by reviewing the history, disease process, and transmission mode of parvovirus.
