Zusammenfassung:	The dopamine metabolite, 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid (DOPAC), was found to be decreased in the anterior cingulate cortex of individuals with schizophrenia compared with normal controls. The finding does not appear to be solely related to the presence of antipsychotic medications, age, postmortem interval, or freezer time. No changes in norepinephrine and its metabolites were found.
