Maternal-infant core competencies in BSN curricula

Many nurse educators feel that everything faculty want to teach, particularly in the specialty areas, cannot be covered in a four-year baccalaureate program. One specialty, however--maternal-infant health nursing--is the focus of a special project to identify exactly those areas of knowledge and clinical skills essential to the beginning practitioner.
