Anorexia Nervosa: Case Finding of Families at Risk

Although anorexia nervosa has been recognized for over 100 years, it is just recently that this syndrome has come to the attention of the general public. Perhaps the American preoccupation with slimness and the fact that several media figures have publicized their battles with anorexia have contributed to the current notoriety. Fashionable though it may be, anorexia remains foremost among eating disorders.
