Myelinated fibre diameters of human inferior alveolar nerves

These were examined in a series of 36 human post-mortem specimens. One unimodal, 32 bimodal and 1 trimodal diameter curves were demonstrated; group analysis of all samples gave a bimodal curve with 2–4 and 8–9 μm peaks.
