Zusammenfassung:The author presents concepts and teaching strategies incorporated into a maternal-newborn nursing course that are inclusive of a womenʼs health perspective during the childbearing years. Concepts such as role, gender, culture, and sociopolitical issues are examined in the context of the womenʼs life during the childbearing years. Specific teaching strategies emphasizing experimental learning are discussed. Strategies to enhance studentsʼ critical thinking abilities are presented.
