A few intrusive thoughts on posttraumatic stress disorder

Investigators have a difficult time determining the relative contributions to PTSD's etiology of the traumatic experience and of preexisting psychopathology in the victims of the trauma. Research on PTSD in WWII veterans is discussed in an editorial.
