A Case of Ossifying Fibroma of the Parietal Bone

We report a case of ossifying fibroma which appeared in the left parietal bone of a 19-year-old man. The incidence of ossifying fibroma itself is rare and generally this tumor appears in the facial bone of young adults. Only nine cases of this tumor involving the cranial vault alone were found in the clinical literature. Although the ossifying fibroma is a benign fibroosseous tumor, complete removal is important in the treatment. Because of the rarity of this finding, we present a report of this case together with a review of the literature.
