Zusammenfassung: | Neurodegenerative diseases are characterized by causing progressive neurological deterioration, that is accompanied by a decrease in personal functionality and independence, and that will involve a familial restructuration in advanced phases because the need of a main caretaker appears. These patients require integral and continued care, which justifies the need for them to be treated in specific units, since the approach is multidisciplinary. In this article, we have summarized the most frequent neurodegenerative diseases and we detail the action protocol of the rehabilitation physician in the different care levels, according to the degree of functional neurological involvement, which will be modified as the disease advances. |
