Zusammenfassung: | Real-time ultrasound scanning of follicular development was performed during 45 cycles of 15 patients receiving gonadotropin therapy for treatment of anovulatory infertility. The amount of gonadotropins administered was based exclusively on the results of the ultrasound examinations. Fourteen pregnancies were obtained, with 10 singletons, 2 sets of twins, and 1 set of triplets, resulting in a cumulative pregnancy rate of>93%. Mild hyperstimulation occurred in two cases. Ultrasound alone can be used effectively to control gonadotropin therapy in the majority of cases. |
