Zusammenfassung: | Extract: The relationship between dietary adequacy and the use of vitamin and mineral supplements was examined in 3,227 women selected from the NHANES I survey sample. Even without supplements, users had a higher nutrient intake and were less likely to have dietary intakes less than the RDAs than were non-users of supplements. That finding remained true after adjustments for socioeconomic, geographic, and anthropometric differences between groups. Supplement users may be the individuals who least need supplements.(author) |
