Demonstration of Segmental Bile Duct Dilatation on Technetium-99m Sulfur Colloid Imaging
Segmental bile duct obstruction and dilatation is known to cause diminished lobar isotope uptake and linear photon-deficient areas on Tc-99m HIDA imaging. Both findings were well demonstrated on Tc-99m sulfur colloid imaging in a patient with a central hepatic mass causing biliary obstruction.
