Zusammenfassung:Visual perception in the horseshoe crab involves the lateral eyes, two neural inhibitory processes in each eye and the brain. Although the primary function of the neural inhibitory processes is to enhance image contrast, they still fail to block out a considerable amount of visual noise. Consequently, horseshoe crabs need to continually adjust their brain's neural threshold to be able to see.
