Zusammenfassung:Extract: Investigation of the eating patterns of 10-year-old children in a semirural biracial community showed consistent macronutrient intakes during the decade 1973 to 1982. Three patterns were noted: (a) Boys had greater intakes of dietary components per day and per kilogram body weight than girls. (b) Intakes were similar for black and white children. (c) Trends in macronutrient intake over the decade paralleled shifts in the American food supply.(author)
