Zusammenfassung:	Cervical-spine injury may occur in elderly patients with a history of minor trauma. We present the case of a patient who suffered a pathologic cervical-spine fracture as the initial presentation of multiple myeloma. A review of the medical conditions that predispose the elderly to cervical-spine fracture in the absence of major trauma is presented.
