Zusammenfassung: | 1.
1. Effect of 3,3',5-triiodo-
l-thyronine (T
3) on survival, growth and body composition (protein, fat and ash) of slow-growing (
Anguilla rostrata L.) elvers was investigated.
2.
2. A significant increase was found in the mean weight of slow growing elvers receiving diets containing 20 ppm T
3 and held in the low water turnover system.
3.
3. A significant increase was also found in the weight of slow-growing elvers receiving diets containing 40 or 60 ppm T
3 and held in the high water turnover system.
4.
4. Percentage protein (dry weight basis) was significantly correlated to body weight, but was not significantly correlated to concentration of T
3 in the diet.
5.
5. There were no significant differences between the total fat content of slow-growing elvers when compared to the total body fat of control elvers. |
