Zusammenfassung:	Twenty-nine lactating Friesian cows, treated with progesterone-releasing intravaginal devices for seven days and a single intramuscular injection of 500 μg cloprostenol on the sixth day, were inseminated at fixed times. The pattern of daily milk progesterone following treatment was consistent with that of a normal fertile ovulation in 28 animals. Milk progesterone concentrations on days 21, 22, 24 and 25 after first AI indicated that 18 animals (62%) had conceived. This combination of treatments appeared to offer an effective system of synchronization.
