Zusammenfassung: | Extract: A total of 3,047 patients (excluding 125 pregnant women) were screened to identify those at nutritional risk at admission to 33 hospitals in and around the greater Chicago area. Data were missing to a variable extent for each of the nutrition markers used. From the available data, it was found that 40 per cent to 60 per cent of the patients were at nutritional risk, as judged by weight/height, serum albumin, hemoglobin, and total lymphocyte count. Nutrition screening at admission is an important component for nutrition intervention.(author) |
