The education for reproductive and sexual health of the pregnant adolescent

The purpose of this article is to analyze the impact of an educational hospital based program. The objective of this program is to prompt attention to the adolescent population below 20 years old attending public hospitals to satisfy the lack of information on sexual and reproductive health. Emphasis is made in promoting the use of adequate family planning methods to enlarge the intergenesic periods in order to diminish reproductive risks. Recent evaluation reveals the main aspects in which education favorably influences the acquisition of knowledge about reproductive health within this age group.
