Zusammenfassung:	The anterior skull base of a patient with a craniofacial cleft with naso-ethmoidal encephalocele was reconstructed using temporo-parietal and frontal galea-pericranial flaps and free cranial bone grafts, to prevent meningitis caused by trans-nasal infection. The patient had frequent episodes of meningitis before surgery, however, no episodes of meningitis have been observed up to 1 year postoperatively.
