Zusammenfassung: | Infections associated with Eikenella corrodens have become increasingly recognized in recent years. Although E. corrodens has been implicated in a wide variety of clinical infections (1), most of the reported infections involve the head and neck or the abdominal area (2, 3).
The microorganism is part of the resident flora of mucous membranes, including the human oral and intestinal flora. As we are not aware of any report of an obstetrical or gynecological infection associated with E. corrodens, we describe here a patient who developed an intra-uterine infection during pregnancy due to this organism. |
