Zusammenfassung: | In an attempt to develop an appropriate infusion program in a continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion system, a conventional pharmacodynamic model (the Bolie model) for describing the relationship between blood glucose and serum insulin levels was evaluated, using a depancreatized dog preparation. The Bolie model was found useful in estimating the basal insulin infusion rate. However, the model could not predict the serum insulin concentration-time profile required to maintain the postprandial blood glucose levels within a physiological range. It will be necessary to develop a more appropriate model for determining the prandial subcutaneous insulin infusion rates in the continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion system. |
