Zusammenfassung:In order to investigate the natural history of the colonic adenoma, 57 colonic adenomas in 31 patients were followed up by barium enema and colonoscopic examination for mean duration of 36 months. The histology of these adenomas was examined on the specimens obtained by biopsy or polypectomy, and their histologic atypia was graded according to the Morson's criteria. The adenomas beyond 5.1mm in initial size of maximal diameter were found to be enlarged more markedly than those under 5.0mm in size, with statistical significance(p
