A Poll Regarding Employees' Means of Defending Labor Rights

This article examines the relative arrangements regarding labor rights and protection enforcement mechanisms, established in the Kemerovskii oblast of Russia, paying particular attention to the formation to these characteristics and roles in a regional environment. The authors investigate the four ways through which this process is maintained and enforced. First, the authors discuss the relative arrangements of enforcement mechanisms, which are in place. Next, the article studies the enforcement aspect through formalized settings; also discussing the findings and statistics of the Russian State Labor Inspectorate (GIT) found in this particular oblast. Then, the authors provide comparative characteristics, data, and analysis regarding the aforementioned enforcement issue; examining facets from 2001-2005; first, looking at Russia (nationwide), and then at the Kemerovskii oblast. Next, the article analyzes the enforcement factor and effects through informalized settings; highlighting statistical data, law and functions, mediums utilized; also mentioning a number of economic aspects, including the financial crisis. Also, the authors discuss the employees' preferences with regard to the decisions concerning the means to defend their labor rights; underscoring self-enforcement mechanisms utilized; and highlighting the relevant questions asked, and the factors and aspects contained within the collected data of this study (see tables within article).
