Zusammenfassung: | Adherence to the performance measures for pneumonia from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO) has been required of accredited hospitals since July 2002. This article describes the ways in which the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers, an 800-bed academic medical center that is a tertiary care center for most of Michigan, taught these measures to the nurses in several general medicine departments, emphasizing smoking-cessation counseling. |
