Zusammenfassung:Without follow-up, the short- and long-term effectiveness of universal newborn hearing screening (UNHS) will be indeterminable, and it will be impossible to access the true incidence of false-positive rates and to compare the reliability of protocols in various institutions. Wittman-Price et al sought to determine whether they could increase the number of parents who follow up, using parental education and the involvement of the nursing staff, by designing a project at a level II perinatal center.
