Zusammenfassung: | Two enteral feeding systems commonly used in Hong Kong were evaluated for ease of bacterial entry during assembly and delivery of feeds. Wearing new, non-sterile disposable latex gloves during the assembly of the systems did not contaminate the feeds. The risk of contamination increased for systems assembled with bare hands. Systems assembled with hands experimentally contaminated with bacteria resulted in definite contamination of feeds. |
