Zusammenfassung:A synopsis is provided of the findings of a 1984 expert workshop on nutrition and hypertension. The report covers 7 key topic areas reviewed by the working groups of the workshop: viz., electrolytes (NaCl, K, Ca, Mg), obesity, proteins (and amino acids), carbohydrates, alcohol, polyunsaturated dietary fat and prostaglandin production, and special populations (e.g., hypertensive children). The reports of each of the working groups delineated short- and long-term research needs based on current knowledge and its limitations in the different working group areas.(wz).
