Zusammenfassung:The Okavango Delta comprises a huge floodplain and wetland region in the north west of Botswana. Limited anthropogenic impacts have allowed the existence of a relatively pristine freshwater habitat without the devastating effect of introduced fish species. Four morphologically distinct and potentially new myxosporean species were recorded from four indigenous fish species in the Okavango Delta between 1998 and 2000. Henneguya sp. 1, Henneguya sp. 2, Henneguya sp. 3 were recorded from the gills of Mormyrus larcerda Castelnau, 1861, Marcusenius macrolepidotis (Peters, 1852), Schilbe intermedius Ruppell, 1832 respectively, and Myxobolus sp. 1 from underneath the scales of Tilapia sparrmanii Smith, 1840.
