Zusammenfassung:Activity and distribution of enzymes in activated sludge flocks reflect microbial activities when degrading organic matters in wastewater. A lab-scale sequencing batch reactor (SBR) was build and used for the treatment of synthetic wastewater to investigate the location and distribution of hydrolytic enzymes, a-glycosidase, protease and alkaline phosphatase, in the extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) and in pellets. The aerobic flocks were categorized into loosely bond (LB) and tightly bound (TB) fractions. Kinetic parameters of enzymatic reactions were determined to identify new biological parameters to describe processes that occur during biological wastewater treatment.
