Zusammenfassung: | A simple but very effective technique of canine retraction using Edgewise brackets is described. The technique is used in mid-arch extraction cases prior to full arch mechanics and utilizes the advanced properties of Nickel Titanium alloy wires and a slow fade type of power chain. The flexibility of the Nickel Titanium alloys permits full bracket engagement using a rectangular sectional wire at the beginning of treatment of most cases. Canine retraction with minimal tipping and rapid incisal unravelling, allows a general entry into full arch mechanics approximately 4 months into treatment. |
