Influence of Salmonella Bacteremia on the Survival of Mice Infected with Schistosoma mansoni

These studies demonstrated that Salmonella bacteremia, regardless of the presence or absence of pili on the organisms, increased the mortality rate in mice infected with S. mansoni . Pretreatment with praziquantel prolonged the survival of mice infected with S. mansoni if it was administered prior to bacterial challenge.
