Zusammenfassung:In a young woman with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, poor diabetic control during the second trimester of pregnancy resulted in ketoacidosis, accelerated fetal growth and polyhydramnios. With the establishment of tight maternal glycaemic control, both accelerated intrauterine growth and polyhydramnios were reversed and a good pregnancy outcome resulted.
