Vitamin A, iron, and haemopoiesis

A recent report stating that small daily supplements of vitamin A had hemopoietic effects that were additive to those of iron when given to pregnant women in a control study is discussed. The combined vitamin A and iron treatment removed 97% of the anemia in the pregnant women.
